P.U.R.T.® (Pet Urine & Odor Removal Treatment) is a revolutionary product specially formulated to eliminate cat and dog urine odors and has shown excellent results on even the most severe urine damage. Removing urine from carpets is a big challenge that requires major restoration work, not just simple cleaning and treating.

Many generic carpet-cleaning companies can mask the odor and remove the stains temporarily, but most of the time the pet odor and stains return. However, with the revolutionary P.U.R.T.® product only available thru Chem-Dry, even your most severe urine damaged areas can be saved for good!

This amazing product works so amazingly well. It has provided hope to many pet owning families around the country. Here’s why.

When urine is first deposited onto a floor or fabric, it has a pH of about 5 or 6, which is on the acid side of the pH Scale.  The urine is easier to remove from the carpet right then… when it is fresh. Once the urine dries it turns “alkaline” or to a high pH between 10 to 12 on the scale and it can become more difficult to remove.

The warm acid state of the urine offers a perfect breeding ground for bacteria, which begin to grow and flourish almost immediately. In its original acid state pet urine begins to oxidize and react with the carpet to create a color change, which can become permanent if the urine is not removed immediately.

If left for days or weeks, depending on the fabric type, it will change the dye structure, therefore causing permanent staining. Even if the soluble deposits are removed, the damage to the carpet’s dye structure may already have been done.

When P.U.R.T® contacts the source of the odor, it immediately begins a chemical reaction that neutralizes and destroys the pet urine odor.  Why settle for a temporary cover up when you can have a total cure?

How P.U.R.T.® works

The first step to eliminating pet odor is a thorough truck mount cleaning of the carpet fibers. This flushes the carpet fibers and greatly reduces the amount of urine crystals, which in return helps to reduce the odor.

The second step is applying an antibacterial to the carpet fibers. This is for reducing the amount of bacteria from the pet urine and or soiling.

The third step is to apply the P.U.R.T into the carpet. The Carpet, pad and sub floor are all saturated to ensure complete odor removal. This patented treatment is meant to break up the urine crystals and make them off gas their entire odor. It takes 24-48 hours to dry. Pet odor escapes forever this way!

Why didn’t my pet urine problem get solved using less drastic measures?

There are two sources of odors associated with pet urine. The first is from bacteria that grow consistently in warm dark places with a never-ending food source. Your pet may be adding to the problem daily when they pee and or mark repeatedly in the same out of the way area.

The bacteria growth and breakdown of the urine creates amino acids. If left untreated, these complex organic compounds will often work deep into the carpet fibers to a point of becoming part of the fiber. This can present a challenging situation, as the waste materials and gases from the decomposing urine create an unpleasant odor. When dried urine is remoistened, it gives off an ammonia gas.

It’s a smell you’ll never forget.

The second source of odor is a chemical odor that is present even when the bacteria in the carpet have been killed. This explains the reason that more than sanitizing is necessary to neutralize odors from the urine. Urine issues also present additional odor problems when the humidity is high.

The salts and uric acid crystals that are left behind as the pet urine dries are hydrophilic and draw water to them. Dried urine is easy to smell in the humid months because the salts from the urine attract the moisture, the moisture evaporates thus putting out a greater proportion of foul ammonia gas.

You must get rid of the urine salts and crystals in and under the carpet to get rid of the odor. That’s why surface carpet cleaning for existing urine spots WILL NOT remove any associated pet urine odor. In fact, it will INCREASE the odor in the air space for a temporary period of time.

You have to get to the very root of the problem – going deep down and flushing out all acids and gases to obtain relief.

P.U.R.T brings that pet odor and stain relief.
